Sometimes weavers acquire wools whose colors are so spectacular that they opt to let them dominate the composition, keeping design to a minimum. This exceptionally beautiful antique Anatolian Kilim is one such piece. The design is simply three vertical zig-zag stripes comprised by softly variegated greens and oranges of the most beautiful hue. Color like this requires virtually no design. |
